Where to begin? What a WONDERFUL trip! Cancun is absolutely beautiful and due to the "Swine Flu" outbreak, it was quite an empty city, which was to our advantage. Our resort was only at 30% capacity, so we got the best service.
We left at 6am Thursday to head for the airport. My sister and her husband James, my cousin Miranda and her boyfriend RJ, and Ed and I took a picture before leaving...

When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted with glasses of champagne. Little did they know that we did not want "glasses" of champagne, we wanted bottles!! We were ready to get our moneys worth of food and drinks!

The view from our balcony was GORGEOUS! Every room at The Royal Cancun Resort has an oceanview, so we were able to watch the beautiful sunset and sunrise everyday!

Lindsey's Birthday was on Sunday, so we got all dressed up for a nice dinner out. There were quite a few restaurants to choose from at the resort. They all had different types of food. We could choose from Asian Hibachi and sushi, a buffet, Mexican/French, and a restaurant on the ocean.

We all booked in-room massages for Saturday afternoon. Well, Lindsey decided that she would rather charter a boat for deep sea fishing for Saturday. I told her that fishing wasn't really my thing, so I didn't want to do that. She did, however, convince me to do the fishing by telling me that we would be on our own "Private Yacht" and I could just lay-out and relax. Private Yacht was all she had to say and I was on-board. Well..."Private Yacht" my ass! We were on a nasty, dirty fishing boat and the next picture will explain how much fun I had.

I could not keep my breakfast down! I threw up the entire time! It was a miserable trip and I can't believe I was talked in to giving up my massage for that. Never again!!
We got back from Cancun late last night and we are exhausted, but we had a GREAT time! Wow, Cancun is beautiful! The water is just absolutely gorgeous and the sand is so white. More details and pictures to come soon...but right now I have A LOT of laundry and unpacking to do.
Ed and I have lived in our house for 4 years. For almost 3 of those 4 years, we have talked about repainting our downstairs bathroom. It has always been so blah and boring. Well, we finally did it and these are the results...
After:
Brenna said her first complete sentence tonight after dinner!
Brenna: (speaking to her father) Your tummy is BIG!!
Braeden: (again, speaking to his father) Yeah, you look like you have a baby in your tummy!!
Ed: (with a sad face) Just call me Lala. (Lala is what Braeden and Brenna call my sister and she is pregnant).
After hiding my smirk, I told Ed to focus on the fact that Brenna spoke her first complete sentence and not on what she actually said. Ed quickly got over what she said and praised her for her grammar!
I was going to start a category of blogs beginning with the words, "Am I a "bad" parent if I...", but I have decided to rename it, "Helpful Parenting Tips". You see, these categories can be interchangeable. There are some things I do to make my life and my husband's life easier. Some people may judge them as "bad" parenting, but I am going to view them as creative, helpful parenting.
McGrath Tip #1: Teach your children to bite their nails, so you don't have to cut them!!
I have taught Braeden to bite his fingernails. They grow so quickly and I am sick of cutting them twice a week! By teaching him this, I have been able to save time at night during evening baths. The funny thing is, he gets so excited to show me how short he is keeping them!
