Background

A friend of mine from work took some pictures of Brenna on Monday, so I thought I would share some. They were taken at the park in our neighborhood. I know I am biased, but I think Miss Brenna looks absolutely precious!

Brenna at 21 months old:

Braeden was invited to a classmate's Birthday Party at the skating rink. We had so much fun and boy did it bring back so many memories of elementary and middle school skating parties!

I asked Braeden a couple of days ago what he wanted to be when he grows up. I had never asked him this question before, so I was very interested in what he would say.

Mommy: "Braeden, what do you want to be when you grow up?"

Braeden: "A bumblebee!"

Mommy: (crazy look on my face) I guess he could tell that was not the answer I was looking for!

Braeden: "I mean...a Transformer!"

Mommy: "A Transformer? How about a Doctor or Policeman or Fireman?"

Braeden: "Well, I guess I could be a fire truck!"

Date Night

Ed and I had a "date night" Saturday. It really has been a long time since Ed and I have gone out by ourselves. We either have the kids with us or we go out with friends, so we decided to make it a night for just the two of us this time. We went to dinner at Corona Cantina at The Legends. I love their food and my favorite drink...Corona Cherry Limeade. I know a cherry limeade with Corona beer in it sounds kind of questionable, but believe me, it is fabulous! After dinner we went to Pin-Up Bowl to hang out. We didn't bowl. We just had a couple of drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere. I LOVE people-watching and The Legends on a Saturday night has some GREAT people-watching!! Ed says I shouldn't talk about other people's outfits, hair, etc., and I know I shouldn't, but I was having a good time. I can't even believe I am admitting that, but I am who I am!

Ed is back and the kids and I did survive, although barely. My head is pounding from all of the screaming Brenna did today. Every time she doesn't get her way, all we hear is screaming and this is LOUD, top of the lung screaming! As I type this, she is screaming because I will not let her hit the keyboard of the laptop. I have started putting her in time out because of all of the screaming and tantrums, but she just immediately gets up and walks away. I have learned from Super Nanny that you have to be vigilant and just continue to place them back in time out until they stay there. I always laughed at the parents on Super Nanny who had to keep putting their child back in time out like 50 times before they actually stayed there. Well, now I'm that parent and it sucks.

I know I make Brenna seem like such a terrible child and I don't mean to. She can be very sweet and she usually has a big smile on her face. I guess I have just been spoiled by how obedient and mild mannered Braeden is. Raising Brenna has been such a challenge for me. She tests me everyday and she is still learning her boundaries. All of this said, I love her so much and we really do have a tight bond. We will just continue to take things day by day.
